Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Is there a way to identify what my incoming pipe is made of?

Look where the pipe comes through the wall, since lead is soft and dull grey while galvanized steel is harder and holds a magnet. If someone has replaced the visible piece, what is buried can still be the old material. Utilities have been building inventories of line materials, and that record is worth requesting.

What causes discolored water first thing in the morning?

Sediment from an aging supply run settles overnight and comes through on the first draw. Work on the street can stir the same material loose for a day or two. If it clears when you run the tap and keeps returning, the supply pipe in the house is worth a look.

What should I know about my shutoff before winter?

It is normally within a few feet of where the pipe comes through the foundation. There is also a curb stop by the street that belongs to the utility and takes their key. An indoor valve that has not moved in twenty years often will not move when you need it.

Does a public lead line replacement include the pipe under my yard?

Nothing happens to it by default, since public programs stop at the boundary. Coordinating the two halves into one dig saves reopening the same path later. The provider's program documents spell out the covered portion, so ask for them.
