Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Should I be worried about older galvanised supply lines?

Galvanised pipe closes up from the inside as it ages, so pressure at the tap falls off even when street pressure is normal. Once that starts, no regulator adjustment brings the flow back.

Will my insurance cover damage from a pressure failure?

It depends on the policy and on what actually failed, so contact your insurance provider before assuming either way. Keep whatever the plumber writes down about the cause, because that document is usually what the claim turns on.

Why do my pipes bang in summer but not in winter?

Heat is usually the difference. Water expands as the heater brings it up, and if a check valve or backflow device has closed the system off there's nowhere for that volume to go, so pressure spikes and the pipes knock.

Is the sewer lateral mine or the borough's?

The lateral from the house to the main is the homeowner's on most properties around here, including the part under the sidewalk. The borough takes over at the main, which is a shorter stretch than most people expect.
