Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Why does pressure drop when two taps run at once?

Either the tank is holding very little water between cycles, or the switch settings are low for the house. Measuring at the tank and again at a fixture shows which of the two is the real limit.

Where does the shutoff sit on a well system?

It sits indoors on the supply run, usually within a few feet of the tank. Finding it on a calm day is worth far more than finding it with water on the floor.

The pump starts and stops constantly. Is that serious?

Short cycling like that usually points to a pressure tank that has lost its air cushion. Left alone it shortens the pump's life quickly, and the switch contacts burn.

What causes the chalky buildup on our faucets?

Hard water is common on wells here, and the scale builds inside the heater long before it shows on a faucet. Sizing any treatment to actual water use is the part worth doing carefully.

Should the well be tested after heavy rain or a wet spring?

Yes on an older well, because the seal at the cap is the only thing between runoff and the water. A plumber checking the cap and the wiring at the same visit saves a second trip.
