Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

How long does a sump pump usually last?

Roughly a decade for a pump in a quiet pit, and much less in a wet one. The float switch usually fails before the motor does. If the unit predates the current owner, it is worth knowing that before spring rather than after.

Do I need a backup for my sump pump?

It depends on what a wet basement would cost you and how often the power drops during spring storms. A pump is only useful while it has electricity, and outage season overlaps the thaw. A plumber can look at the pit and say whether a battery or water-powered unit fits.

Why would the floor drain back up instead of draining?

That points at the lateral or the municipal line backing up rather than a drainage problem inside the house. Keep water out of the fixtures until it clears, because every load you run adds to it. A camera run down the lateral is the usual next move.

How far from the house does the sump discharge need to go?

Far enough that the water doesn't circle back through the backfill, which is usually a good deal farther than people assume. A short outlet is the most common reason a healthy pump seems to run nonstop. Grading around the Parkesburg side of a lot can matter as much as the pipe itself.
