Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Is it safe to keep resetting a breaker for the sump pump?

A pump that trips a circuit repeatedly is telling you something about the motor or the outlet, and resetting it through a thaw is a bad bet. Leave it off and get it looked at rather than blaming the breaker. Water rising in a pit with a dead pump is the outcome worth avoiding.

How does a freeze split show up on an outdoor faucet?

Yes. A freeze can crack the pipe behind the wall while everything looks fine from outside, and the leak waits until the line is charged again. Watch the joists under that wall the first time it's used. A stain there is the tell.

My basement has no sump pit at all. Is that a problem?

Only if the basement shows it. A floor that stays wet for weeks after the melt says the footing tile is silted, crushed or absent, and a pit is one answer among several. Getting the diagnosis before the excavation is the part that saves money.

My pit is full and the pump is humming. What is going on?

Water that can't leave the pipe comes straight back down, so the level holds steady no matter how long the motor runs. Ice in the outlet is the seasonal version. A pump left fighting that will fail well before its normal service life is up.
