Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Should I repipe the whole house or fix the leak?

That depends on the material and how many failures you've had. One pinhole in otherwise sound copper is a repair, but repeated leaks in old galvanized usually mean the rest of the run is on the same clock.

How can I tell whether my supply pipes are copper, galvanized or PEX?

Look at the exposed run near the water heater or the main shutoff. Copper is a dull orange metal, galvanized is grey steel with threaded fittings, and PEX is flexible plastic tubing in white, red or blue. A plumber can confirm what's behind the walls without opening them up.

What's the risk of mixing copper and galvanized pipe?

Where the two metals meet directly they corrode at the connection, which is why a dielectric fitting belongs there. Houses that had partial repipes often have several of these junctions, and they fail quietly.

Where is my main shutoff likely to be?

In most houses here it's on the incoming line near the meter, often on the basement wall facing the street. Knowing where it is before you need it saves a lot of water. If you can't find it, a plumber can locate it and label it.
