Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What does a lead service line look like where it enters the house?

The entry point is the place to check, because lead scratches to a bright shine and galvanized does not. Neither check settles it if that visible section was already swapped for copper. Utilities have been building inventories of line materials, and that record is worth requesting.

Will insurance cover replacing a corroded supply line?

That depends entirely on your own policy wording, and your insurance provider is the only one who can answer it. Slow deterioration and an abrupt burst are not always seen the same way. Keep dated photographs and whatever the plumber writes down.

Do I need a permit to replace the line into the house?

Approval is normally needed, as the street side of the job belongs to the provider. The plumber doing the work generally pulls it as part of the job. Ask that question early rather than on the day the excavator arrives.

Should I filter the water while a lead line is being replaced?

Providers generally recommend it for a period after the swap, as the disturbance releases particles. A basic carbon taste filter is not the same thing as a lead rated one. The provider will hand over flushing steps for the days after the work, and they are worth following exactly.

Should I worry about rusty colored water from one tap?

Sediment from an aging supply run settles overnight and comes through on the first draw. Main flushing or a nearby repair will disturb the same sediment. Colour that comes back on a schedule is a pipe problem, not a one off.
