Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Should I filter the water while a lead line is being replaced?

Yes, and providers normally advise it, because disturbing a line loosens material that has been sitting in it. The rating matters here, so check that the cartridge is meant for lead. Follow the flushing instructions the provider gives once the connection is finished.

Is my supply pipe why the water heater is noisy?

Rust particles from upstream collect in the tank and stay there. Draining the tank clears the layer without addressing the source. Fixing the supply pipe is what removes the source.

My pressure has faded gradually, so what causes that?

Rust building up inside galvanized supply pipe is the usual cause, because the buildup narrows the bore a little at a time. Nothing bursts, so the decline goes unremarked until a shower and a washing machine compete. Gauging the pressure at the house against the street pressure shows how much the pipe is stealing.

Can I have the water tested for lead?

Your water provider can usually arrange or advise on a test, and many run sampling programs for homes with known lead lines. Independent laboratories will also take a sample. Sampling and the material record answer two different questions.

How much excavation does a service line replacement need?

Not always, because trenchless methods can pull a new line along the old path in many situations. Ground conditions and what else is buried nearby determine the method. A plumber will normally locate the line before choosing an approach.
